The patent pending GROWEX system effectively kills 100% of insects, such as spider mites and their eggs once they are found in an indoor cultivation room, without harming the crop. The treatment duration is up to 24 hours and does not use any other insects, chemicals, or pesticides. The system is based on providing a specifc cocktail of natural gases to rapidly kill (within 24 hours) all forms of insect life and their eggs to avoid a break out contamination.
GAS TIGHT AND ENERGY EFFICIENT CULTIVATION ROOMS:
A gas-tight envelope is needed to enable the GROWEX pest control system to work;
Less than 0.02 inch2 of air leak tolerance per 3,532 ft3 of volume of air is allowed in the rooms where the GROWEX pest control system would be implemented. This level of gas tightness virtually eliminates potential contamination from coming in, including powdery mildew;
HVAC AND CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE EQUIPMENT:
The GROWEX system works together with HVAC and controlled atmosphere “CA” equipment which are designed to allow the contamination-free process to take place, and to deliver a constant uniform growing environment which will optimize plant growth and yield.
The system will also control temperature and humidity in addition to the required gases (CO2, O2, N2);
All this equipment is controlled by a proprietary web-enabled software to give the owner/operator a user-friendly platform and to optimize energy effciency;
The software controls include features such as SMS/e-mail alerts in case rooms are not functioning according to desired set points, reporting, log books, data storage, and a programmable tool for grow masters to use in order to optimize growth processes. This software is currently used worldwide with our parent company STOREX in fruit & vegetable storage facilities in more than 25 countries.
